About Us
Born from a passion for preserving the South Indian Culture amongst the youth within South Africa WoodMark Events SA founded by established businessmen Sagie Naidoo and Reagan Moodley has brought international headliner acts to South Africa with their unique and creative business model endorsed by an already established brand internationally.
Starting out as a discussion about the South Indian culture with each other Sagie and Reagan collaborated on their creative abilities and put together a series of events aimed at the youth in South Africa to reignite their maternal connection to the South Indian diaspora. Starting off as a collaboration with South Side FM they flew down international DJ Jay for a taste of South Indian club culture to the Durban youth. Discussions around the next international act to grace South African shores began in (insert date) which was Dj Deepika and Navz the number one couple DJ duo from Chennai. This event was a special one as Sagie and Reagan used the event to announce the #BigReveal which was for the 3rd event on the WoodMark Events calendar Sid Sriram Live in Durban.
Gracing South African shores for the first time Sid Sriram live at the Durban ICC saw over 6000 people attend the concert singing and dancing along to their favourite hit songs by the world-renowned artist.
The journey to hosting a man international megastar of this calibre was no easy fate as the marketing of the event was a strategic two-folded approach. Market the artist and push ticket sales. The fruits of the labour were seen when ticket sales surpassed 50% within an hour of release setting the pace for a magical journey ahead. The team behind the event worked day and night in executing a stellar show and making sure the stage was set and for the South Indian flag to fly high.
Many firsts happened along the way such as for the first time a South Indian song was played on East Coast Radio which is known for their Western genre of music being aired.
WoodMark Events is not stopping there as directors Sagie and Reagan have visited Chennai, London, and Malaysia to have discussions for the next international event.
